Wi Kreative Playgron 29 August

Our monthly gathering of creatives and lovers of the arts, Wi Kreative Playgron returned on August 29 with another enchanting evening of art, poetry, and music. Despite the absence of some featured artists—Desrah Cole due to illness and Donni Major due to urgent matters—the evening presented a rich lineup of open mic performers filling the gaps.

Held on the cozy balcony of Urður Ásta’s home in Murray Town, JE Arts had his hyperrealistic drawings hanging on a washing line beside the stage, adding a unique artistic touch.

The night began with featured poets like Nema, whose words carried the introspective essence of a melancholic teenager, and Wisdom Y. Williams, whose spoken word moved the audience with his dynamic storytelling.

With 5 open mic slots originally planned, the absence of some artists made room for a longer, more inclusive session where 9 open mic readers shared their creative expressions.

Performers like Kadija Barrie, Michael Moses Menjor, Izi, ApriilL, AV Dicey, OAKdeen, Taurus, Melvin, and Joy Gborie brought the event to life, filling the air with captivating poetry and stories.

Wi Kreative Playgron’s August edition captured the essence of what this space is all about: community, creativity, and the power of artistic expression. The event continues to grow, creating a lasting impact in the Sierra Leonean creative scene.

Thank you to Things and Somethings for your support. Your contribution goes a long way in helping us provide a creative platform for artists across Sierra Leone. We’re grateful for your belief in our mission!
