Wi Art Space

Wi Art Space is a rotating exhibition series, held at Lumley Atlantic Hotel’s restaurant area. Every few weeks, a new visual artist is spotlighted. This provides them with a unique platform. They can showcase their works to diverse, international visitors.

The exhibitions offer artists visibility, networking opportunities, and direct economic benefits through potential sales. Since launching, Wi Art Space has connected visual artists to wider audiences. It boosts their artistic profile and promotes appreciation for Sierra Leone’s vibrant art scene.

Jozy

Jozy’s mixed-media portraits merge hyper-real draftsmanship with Afro-surreal symbolism drawn from years living between The Gambia and Sierra Leone. Expect tattoo-inspired line work, mural-scale sketches and layered stories of ancestry, power and spirit.

Past Exhibitions

Whispers From Salone March

Zato is a therapeutic-arts coach and visual artist. He opened Wi Art Space with an intimate series. This series paired bold line drawings with Krio affirmations. The show served a dual purpose. It was also a launch for his Whispers from Salone colouring book. The book was created to fund free art-therapy classes for juveniles in detention.

Life on a canvas

Our second resident, Diana, is a Sierra Leonean painter and architecture student. Her dreamy palette studies memory, femininity, and the bustle of Freetown’s streets. Her canvases invite viewers to slow down and “read” colour the way architects read plans.
