On the 11th of May, the third heat of Rise & Riot took place at the picturesque Mango Peak, offering a breathtaking backdrop to an evening filled with creativity and passion. The event drew a vibrant crowd, all eager to witness the fiery clash of words and the eruption of artistic expression that has become the hallmark of our slam series.

Seven poets took the stage, each delivering powerful performances that ranged from deeply personal reflections to boldly political statements. Each piece resonated with the audience, highlighting the diverse voices and stories that make up our community.
The night, however, belonged to Dee. With a commanding presence and a masterful use of language, Dee captivated the audience and judges alike, delivering a performance that was both moving and thought-provoking. Dee’s performance stood out not only for its technical brilliance but also for its emotional depth, earning them the champion title of this heat.

As always, the energy and passion of the poets were matched by the enthusiasm of the audience, creating an electric atmosphere that celebrated the power of spoken word. This heat of Rise & Riot reaffirmed our mission to provide a platform for artists to express themselves freely and to connect with others through the universal language of poetry.

Congratulations to Dee and all the poets who participated. We look forward to the next heat, where more voices will rise and more stories will be told.
Stay tuned for more updates and join us for the next round of Rise & Riot!
