Hey there! Welcome to Inkundla open mic sessions! We’re all about strengthening creative communities one mic at a time. Our journey began because we noticed something important: the creative spirit of Sierra Leone doesn’t just live in Freetown—it’s everywhere! From the rolling hills of Kenema to the quite Lunsar streets, we’re on a mission to create safe, open spaces where artists of all kinds can come together, share their stories, and let their creativity shine.

At the heart of what we do is a belief in the power of art to bring people together, build strong communities and motivate people to become agents of change. We think every city and town in Sierra Leone should have a place where folks can gather, express themselves, and celebrate their talents. By establishing pop-up open mic sessions in 16 different locations, we’re creating a rich fabric of culture, connection, and creativity that stretches across the entire nation.

Our journey began in March 2024 when we launched our first sessions in Freetown, and Kenema. Since then, we’ve been blown away by the incredible talent and passion we’ve seen at every event. From heartwarming poetry to electrifying music, our stages have been graced by artists from all walks of life, each bringing their own unique flair to the mic. But we’re just getting started!
